By Wayne Harris-Wyrick (Prompt: Talk to me! all dialogue)
“Forgive me, father. I have sinned.”
“When was your last confession?”
“Three months ago.”
“What is the nature of your transgression, my son?”
“I had impure thoughts about a woman. And I master…I spilled my seed.”
“That’s not so bad. How old are you, my son?”
“I just turned eighteen.”
“Where did you meet this woman?”
“I snuck into the Spider’s Web last night. I saw a dancer named Cinnamon. Oh, dear! Father, did I upset you that much? Is my sin so awful?”
“What made you choose that particular establishment?”
“I pass it on the way home each day from work. I am sorry, Father, I was curious.”
“Have you ever been in it before?”
“No, this is the first time.”
“That is an extremely bad place for you to enter. It is the house of Satan.”
“When I was in there, I saw a man I thought I recognized from our church. He looked…”
“I AM SURE NONE OF OUR PARISHONERS WOULD EVER VISIT THERE! I, I am sorry, my son, I did not mean to shout. I fear for your soul should you continue with this course of action and behavior.”
‘I promise, Father, to never visit this place again. Tell me how I may absolve these sins.”
“Christ forgives you. Say ten Hail Mary’s. But you must NEVER GO THERE AGAIN.”
